A bowl of kheer is the remaining winner when it comes to Indian desserts. Be it a festival, a get-together or simply our taste buds craving a bowl of dessert delicacy. Kheer is the go-to dish for everything. A Rice pudding (kheer) is a convenient and effortless dessert, best for events too. Delicious rice kheer, cooked with full-fat or full cream milk and basmati rice.

  • 1/4 cup basmati rice,
  • 1-litre full cream milk
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 tsp cardamon powder
  • 1 tsp saffron
  • 1 tbsp almond(badam) chopped
  • 1 tbsp pistachio(chopped)

How to make kheer

1] Firstly, rinse the rice in water until the starch removes from rice.
2] then soak the rice in a bowl for 10-15 minutes
3] Boil the milk in a pan on low -medium flame and restrict it to half. Once it is reduced, drain water from rice and put it in the boiled milk and prepare further(gas should be on a low flame)
4] stir the rice at regular intervals, so that it does not stick at bottom of a pan.
5]  once the rice is almost cooked add sugar in it( As required)
6] Now add the cardamom powder,  chopped saffron, almond and pistachio and mix well.
6] Serve hot or chilled.
