how to make gajar halwa

  • 500 kg carrot
  • 1/2 litre or 2 cups milk(full-fat milk)
  • 1 cup sugar( or according to your taste)
  • ghee
  • khoya 
  • dry fruits( cashews, pista, almonds)
  • cardamom powder


1] buy fresh red carrot for gajar halwa and grate them, then slowly cook them in stove top and keep stirring on regular basis. it would be better if you use iron kadai to make gazar halwa.

2] on a low medium fame, bring the whole mixture to a boil and then simmer.

3] put sugar on it[aprrox 250gm in 2kg], stir well and continue to simmer.

4] once the water is evaporate add milk on it, keep on stirring in between.

5] when the milk will start to reduce and evaporate add khoya in it, cardaman powder, and some cashews, simmer carrot halwa till all the milk is evaporated. switch off the burner.

6] finally serve hot hot gajar halwa in a bowl
